The Texas 4-H Foundation is having a Christmas Card Contest! This year’s theme: A Texas Christmas!

The Christmas Card Contest is open to 4-H Members of all ages. Members must design a 5×7″ Christmas Card.  Designs must be at least 5×7, nothing smaller but can be larger.  Also, members can enter more than 1 design.

Mail the design, along with the Christmas Card Design Contest Entry Form, to the Texas 4-H Foundation: P.O. Box 11020, College Station, TX 77842.

Designs must be postmarked by Nov. 6, 2020. The top 5 winning designs will then be available for purchase and each winner will receive $100.  Pre-order a multipack of all designs by November 1, 2020 for a chance to win a $50 gift card.

Tom Green County will be hosting an Invitational Food Challenge contest on December 5^th at the SPUR Arena on the San Angelo Stock Show Fairgrounds.  This contest will be open to the first 50 paid teams.  The age divisions for this contest will be Junior ( 3^rd – 5^th grade ), Intermediate (6^th – 8^th grade), and Senior (9^th – 12^th grade) teams.

The entry  fee will be $40/team, once payment is received your registration will be confirmed. There will NOT be a late registration period.  Please register by November 13^th on the Tom Green County 4-H Webpage (  https://tomgreen.agrilife.org/invitational-food-challenge/ ) .

The Soil & Crop Sciences Department at Texas A&M University has a great opportunity for students wanting to major in Plant & Environmental Soil Science and Turfgrass Science.

The department is awarding $16,000 scholarships to incoming freshmen and $8000 scholarships to transfer students.  Please see the attached flyer for information about the scholarships and the application process.  The deadline for the application is January 1.  You can also find the information at this link:

The Coastal Bend Classic website has been updated with the Clinicians and Judges for Goat and Sheep.  The Beef Clinician and Judge are TBD.

Just a reminder, early registration is open now until November 13, 2020.  Regular registration will be open from November 14 to Day of Show.

The Bee Jolly Showdown Steer and Heifer prospect show will be held on December 19, 2020 at the Bee County Show Barn in Beeville, Texas.

There will be $400 cash plus prizes for Grand Champion and $200 cash plus prizes for Reserve Champion (Heifer and Steer).  Division Champion will receive belt buckles, Breed Champion will receive pop socket buckle style, Reserve Breed Champion will receive custom brushes, and all class winners will receive bucket prizes.  Over $6000 worth of prizes and awards will be given.

District 4 is excited to host a Shooting Sports Coaches Certification Training on December 12, 2020 in Bowie County.

The 4th Annual Show With Your Heart will be held on November 20-22, 2020 at the Kendall County Event Center in Comfort, TX.

The event will benefit The Children’s Heart Foundation.

Registration is currently open for the 2020 District 8 4-H Shooting Sports Coach’s Clinic.  The cost is $120 per person.

The clinic will be held on November 14, 2020 at ECLA in Stephenville, Texas.  Disciplines offered are Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, and Archery.
