INFORMATION FOR:

Livestock Judging and Meats Judging & ID

Dairy Judging (JR/INT ONLY) – Held with HLSR (February 28, 2023)


Date: April 23, 2022

Entry/Registration Deadline:  March 1 – 31, 2023 via 4-H Online

Late Registration: April 1 – 7, 2023

Entry Fee: $10 per person (per contest) ($25 late fee)

LIVESTOCK JUDGING: If you are an adult volunteer that is interested in serving as a helper/group leader at the District Livestock Judging Contest, please contact Audra Lewis at audra.lewis@ag.tamu.edu  and let her know of your interest!  Volunteers are always needed and welcomed!

7:15 am – Registration
7:30 am – Livestock in place
7:45 am – Official Placings
8:00 am – Contest Begins
3:00 pm – Awards Presentation (subject to change)


Classes to be judged:

Estimated.  This could change.

  • 2 Market Steer
  • 1 Breeding Cattle
  • 1 Goat
  • 1 Market Lamb
  • 1 Breeding Lamb
  • 2 Market Swine

Reasons

  • Juniors – No reasons
  • Intermediates – 2 sets (1 market steer, 1 market sheep) **will evaluate this as we get closer to contest date. May be limited due to COVID restrictions
  • Seniors – 4 sets (2 cattle, 1 sheep, 1 swine)
