The Texas 4-H Center in Lake Brownwood, TX is hosting Teen Retreat 2020. The retreat is scheduled for January 3-5, 2020 and is open to 4-H members in 7th-12th grade.

The 3rd Annual TNT Swine Showdown takes place on January 4, 2020 at the Friar Ag Center in Cuero, TX. The event is a Two Ring Show. Check-in is 6:00-8:00 am. Ring A starts at 9:00 am. Ring B starts immediately following Ring A. Payment is made on the day of the show and it’s cash only.

Highlights for 2019:
The Calhoun County 4-H will be having a Livestock Judging Contest in conjunction with the Calhoun County Fair on Friday, October 18, 2019.
2 Divisions will be available: Junior Division (3rd – 8th Grade) and Senior Division (9th – 12th Grade)
Entry Fees are $10/Individual, $30/Team

Onsite Registration will start at 8:00 AM. If your team(s) decide to do Onsite Registration, please make checks payable to Calhoun County 4-H.
Orientation will start at 8:45 AM and the Contest will start promptly at 9:00 AM. Awards presentation will begin as soon as possible after the conclusion of the contest.
Prizes will be given to Top 5 Individuals, and Top 3 Teams.

The Soil & Crop Sciences Department at Texas A&M University has a great opportunity for students wanting to major in Plant & Environmental Soil Science and Turfgrass Science.

The upcoming 4-H Wildlife Habitat Education Project (WHEP) Workshop will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic in Plantersville, TX on December 7, 2019. Registration will be available on 4-H Connect (https://texas.4honline.com/) from November 1 – 22, 2019.
This hands on workshop will be available for youth and adults interested in learning more about the project.
